Contract Specialist

Our client provides a broad portfolio of business and technology solutions to help its clients worldwide improve their business performance. Its core portfolio comprises information-technology, applications and business process services, as well as information-technology transformation services.

Responsibilities

· Prepare and review routine and non-routine contractual documents between company and the Client, such as statements of work, contract variations, deliverables, acceptance forms, requests for proposals, proposals for services, quotations and project documents

· Identify the need for and monitor contract variations or extensions

· Administer the provision of deliverables to the Bank (e.g. acceptance certificates, service level reports)

· Provide company personnel with commercial advice (including in relation to pricing and processes, contract, delivery and other commercial or financial risks)

· Manage and administer contractual documentation and correspondence between company and the Client

· Attend meetings and workshops with Client personnel to represent company’s interests

· Prepare and review routine and non-routine correspondence between company and the Client

· Work closely with company’s business personnel

· Work closely with lawyers from company Legal Affairs

· Work closely with company Supply Chain Management to establish back-to-back coverage of company’s obligations to its client for a variety of supplier/sub-contractor agreements

· Support company personnel in relation to fulfilment of contractual, delivery and legal obligations

· Support the business objectives of company’s Account team

· Attend formal and informal negotiations with Client and third party personnel

· Build strong relationships with Client counterparts and company management personnel

· Provide governance oversight for the business as part of the overall CCM function, including compliance with company corporate policies and procedures

· Support the resolution of commercial issues between company and the Client and other third parties

· Perform contractual and commercial risk assessments and devise mitigation strategies

· Support company teams engaged in pursuing new business with the Client

· Implement CCM management tools into the Account

Reporting structure

· Report to the Manager, Asia Pacific Contract and Commercial Management Group

· Dotted line report to the Account Client Delivery Executive who will provide guidance and supervision for day to day activities

·  Engage with and support lawyers from Legal Affairs

Selection criteria

Essential

· Contract management and administration experience in a large organisation

· Experience in managing contracts within the Singaporean business environment

· Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, yet act independently and with initiative

· Good negotiation, as well as oral and written communication skills in the English language

· Minimum 5 years experience in the ICT sector, ideally with a service provider focus

· Excellent organisation skills and ability to plan and prioritise competing deadlines and tasks

· Clerical skills and good level of competence with office applications (MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Access etc)

· Sound commercial judgement

Desirable

· Further education in IT, finance, business or law

· Experience in the outsourcing or financial services industries, or procurement

· Understanding of the principles of contract law

· 5-6 years solid contract/legal experience

· Experience in negotiating big value contracts, good drafting skills and has lots of clients facing experience
