Global Procurement Manager, Malaysia

Job Title            : Global Procurement Manager

Reports To        : Vice President, Global Procurement

Location            : Shah Alam

Job Summary (Overall Accountability)

To manage the company’s procurement program as it relates to

  • Purchase of textile finished products category
  • Purchase of textile materials (namely cotton liners and yarn) for inhouse plants or finished product suppliers

Ensuring all products/materials meet the required specifications and that products are supplied in accordance with defined customer requirements

To manage the procurement team that support the above product and material category

Responsibilities & Authority

  • To manage the procurement of finished products in this category – ensuring quality, on-time delivery, competitive pricing and from a value perspective all suppliers meet defined customer requirements.
  • To manage the procurement of textile materials – ensuring quality, on-time delivery, competitive pricing and from a value perspective all suppliers meet defined customer requirements.
  • Conduct negotiations with suppliers for better commercial benefits, terms and conditions.
  • Develop and work closely with existing suppliers for better and closer relationship
  • Initiate and implement procurement strategies that achieve long term and sustainable commercial benefits to the company.
  • Manage the suppliers to ensures that they meet the company quality assurance, regulatory and risk management program and requirements.
  • To manage projects related to the job as assigned.
  • Manage the team for this product and material category to ensure smooth operations of procurement activities.
  • Responsible for adhering to corporate policies and procedures including ISO 13485:2003 quality management system.

Job Requirements

(Qualification/Education/Years of Experience)

Tertiary education in any discipline

  • Minimum 10 years working experience with minimum 5 years in managerial/supervisory procurement, supply chain or related experience.
  • Possess high standards of integrity and personal work standards
  • Proactive self starter capable of managing multiple projects/priorities at once
  • Strong and focused leadership: team player
  • Proven ability to learn and absorb/retain knowledge
  • Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Strong commitment in providing high level of customer service
  • Regular domestic and overseas traveling

Technical competencies Requirements

  • Knowledge, experience and skills in cross-cultural negotiation and business environment.
  • Managerial and critical analytical skills
  • Knowledge of cotton textile and glove production process (Prefer)
  • Understanding of supply chain management
  • Computer literate in Microsoft application software
