Marketing Research Specialist, APAC

Our client is a European manufacturer of cables and cabling system.

The Role:

Reporting to the Vice President Sales & Marketing, this person will:

  • Investigate, identify and pre-qualify potential new business opportunities in Asia-Pacific in close cooperation with the marketing, sales and business Managers, and in coordination with the Country Managers and the Global Segment Managers.
  • Conduct research on market conditions, competition intelligence and propose marketing plan alterations, as needed.
  • Design and support the implementation of annual marketing plan for APAC.  Support and facilitate development and implementation of section business/marketing plans.
  • Provide support in the follow-up of the performance of all sales teams in the Area, as well as preparation of business reviews, monthly reporting, budgets, strategic reviews and sales/Area seminars-conventions.
  • Develop and administer marketing database which includes client and prospect information, mailing list applications, access to financial reports, etc.
  • Support Country Marketing teams
  • Support firm’s electronic marketing efforts of Regional Web site contents and maintenance.
  • Oversee business development activities including:
  1. Work with regional cross-sales offices on designing and implementing prospecting and client contact system.
  2. Efforts through Business Development Coordinators
  3. Assisting in strategic planning for client presentations
  4. Organize and implement customer building relations including:
  5. Customer satisfaction surveys
  6. Customer development activities
  7. Customer Training
  8. Special Events

Requirements:

  • Degree in Marketing, Business or Communications preferred.
  • At least 5 years of business experience in the private sector. 
  • At least 3 years in a marketing Manager’s role within professional service and industrial environment.                                            
  • Strong leadership and consensus building skills; marketing management and strategic planning experience; a proven track record in developing and administering a marketing program.  Experience with a company or channel in a related company sector.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English as a business language.  At least one additional language (Chinese Mandarin, Bahasa). 
  • Willing to travel regionally 25% of the time.
